Auto Expo 2016: 1.12 lakh visitors on Day 2 results in traffic nightmare

GREATER NOIDA:

The ongoing Auto Expo at the India Expo Mart here registered a staggering 1.12 lakh visitors on Saturday. This resulted in a massive rush both at the venue as well as most roads leading up to it.
Despite the relatively large parking area around the venue, there was a sea of vehicles with traffic during peak hours flowing into DND Flyway, Kalindi Kunj and Noida-Greater Noida expressway.
The Auto Expo was opened to public on Friday and the first day registered 80,000 visitors. Although the organisers previously said they expected high attendance for the event which is scheduled till the 9th, Saturday's rush is indicative of the fact that Sunday may well see even more people paying the popular expo a visit.
The Auto Expo is India's largest expo related to cars, bikes, trucks, buses and automotive technology. As many as 80 launches took place this year with almost every manufacturer displaying their new and popular products here. It was previously held in Pragati Maidan but was shifted to Greater Noida due to a steady rise in attendance.
