Hyderabad: Akbaruddin Owaisi, a legislator of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) and brother of firebrand Muslim leader Asaduddin Owaisi, has reportedly said that if his party and the Narendra Modi-led Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) join hands, they could together wipe out Congress from the country.
Akbaruddin Owaisi was heard making the remarks in a video that has gone viral on social media, CNN-IBN reported.
He made the remarks during a public meeting at Baba Nagar on January 30 ahead of the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections.
The AIMIM MLA called Congress leaders slaves of the Gandhis: “Narendra Modi ke saath mein, saare desh mein Congress saaf karoonga (With Narendra Modi, I will finish Congress from India).”
He also took pot shots at Prime Minister Narendra Modi over his 'Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas' slogan saying only a "chaiwala" (tea seller) has prospered after the General Elections of 2014, CNN-IBN reported.
